Nintendo DSi or Itouch?
You have enough money to buy either a Nintendo DSi or an Itouch. Which one would you buy?
I am considering on buying one and price to me is irrelevant.

I love my Itouch. Can listen to music as well as play awesome games that always have updates and new content added to them and cost almost nothing.
Then again if you are 12-17ish you might want a DSi to play with friends etc.

DSi.
Oh wait, I bought one the day they came out :P
But really, I already have an iPod. I don't need an iTouch. My DS Lite was traded for a DSi basically only because I'd had my Lite for two and a half years and it had cracked hinges and the touchscreen was losing its sensitivity.

Buy an 80gig iPod classic, DS's get boring and iTouch trades space for stupid apps that let you have a fake lighter and gun shot noises.

I have both
But my Itouch is the first generation model, so it doesnt have an external speaker.
Anyway, the DSi is great, since you can download games from the DSi ware shop. The cataloge isn't very large now, but I'm guessing it will grow bigger and better very soon. The camera is.....OK. Only if you are in a well lit room, and don't plan on taking real fancy pictures with it since it's only .3 megapixels.
DSi sounds only plays ACC files, and lets you manipulate your music in some fun ways.
I say DSi

Since you're asking what I would do with that amount of money, I'll take a DSLite.
Screw DSi, phones are utility units and I want my backwards compatibility.

DS Lite, of course.
Mainly because of backwards compatibility and because you CAN watch videos on it, you can listen to music, draw, make notes, use the Internet (with home-brew, of course) and more.
I bought a normal DS, because I have a bit too big hands for the Lite, since I didn't need anything to watch videos/listen to music anyway. MP3 and an MP4 take care of that.

DSi's are stupid. If you want to mess around with pictures, download some picture manipulating program like Paint.Net or G.I.M.P.
DS Lite or the big chunky ones if they still sell them, then use the rest of the money on something decent or save it for later.

I do have a picture-making program on my DS. It's easy to use, if I only could draw...

Wait, you want a phone or a weakass MP3? Because you can just buy a DSi and use it as a iPod. Yeah, with the touch screen and everything.
Oh, and I would give you few games that are not for younger kids (both in graphics/gameplay or difficulty), but you look stupid enough already.

I brought my 16GB Ipod touch last years during Christmas time. I've been having lot of fun with it. I was thinking about getting DS-i but after reading the reviews and how it actually has shorter battery life. I decided not to get one. Not to mention, I rarely play games on handheld devices.

the DS-I IS the new ds right now, but they got rid of the ability to play GBA games so thats why we're saying just get a Lite.

I have the DSi - its honestly not worth it. I would rather play with my DS Lite. The exclusive feature - the camera is terrible. Quality is low and some cell phones have better visual than it - when it uses an SD card. I had some friends say that the SD card addition would allow you to download games, but thats yet to be proven or yet to be done without serious software manipulating.
Plus it isn't that it even uses a new system. Usually Nintendo releases an entirely new kind of system every 5 or so years from the GBA to the DS, something completely new will come around that probably won't even use DS's card interface. Just cause Nintendo can...
I would say get the iPod Touch - heck maybe even go for the iPhone. I hear GREAT things about them and I really want to just get one myself! If i hadn't spent the money on the DSi.

Plus the ability to use flashcarts on the Lite, the much longer battery life of the Lite, and... well you know, all that good stuff they cut out of the DSi for a silly pair of cameras.
Seriously though, for $170-$210 (depending on location and availability, new or used DS, etc.), you can get a DS Lite and every game available for it, plus hundreds of homebrew applications, plus the ability to play music and movies on it... It's like an iPod, but less gay, and without the iTunes nagging.

Agree. I bought a very good used DS for about $100, and got an R4 + 2GB SDCard.
